Maya Realtime Rendering

In this video tutorial for maya I will explain how to make the shaders for do the realtime render whithout any plugin or imported shaders. The realtime render inside the maya viewport with the new Viewport 2.0 of Autodesk maya 2012.

This technique is very helpful when we have a huge quantity of poly or nurbs surfaces to render but no time for do it. In the tutorial is explained a good use of realtime render. For testing the full power of the shaders I did use my pagani zonda sport car.

Most maya users have trouble to do the realtime render with ATI video cards, so with this procedure is possible do the realtime render with NVIDIA and ATI cards. The computer in use is a Mac Pro dual quad core with 8 gb of ram and A VGA ATI Radeon HD 5770 Videotutorial how to make the realtime render in the maya viewport without any plugin or particular shader.

The videotutorial will show you how to make in the maya viewport:

Realtime light shadows
Realtime motion blur
Realtime ambient occlusion
Realtime reflection
Realtime anti aliasing filter
Realtime DOF (only NVIDIA GPU)
Realtime bump

Videotutorial how to make the realtime render in the maya viewport without any plugin or particular shader.

This is a simple realtime render test with the new MAYA 2012 - VIEWPORT 2.0, here Im using 4 spotlight with depth map shadows enabled on one of my last car model, the pagani Zonda F. For the background I have used just a sphere with a lambert shader and an hdri for texture. Another important think is the plane under the car, that's why the hdri looks moving under the tires without it.

The reflection on the chassis is amazing and very realistic if you consider is a realtime. Only a couple of things are not possible to do in realtime, that are the refraction IOR of the glass, and the indirect illumination, this one is possible to fake with realtime ambient occlusion and some spot lights.

On the tires is present a pretty realistic diplacement of the letters, it is make with a simple 2d bump linked to the blinn shader.
